Five For Friday 1/22/16
1. Medical Stuff:
- 1 Day of PT. Gentle neck manipulations and a LOT of cardio. I also started on the weight machines this week.
- 2 Days of Home Rehab. I rocked my cardio old school to Bell Biv Devoe. No judging.
- Sunday, I decided it would be a good idea to run up my parent’s driveway and into their house from my car. However, my body had another idea when I slipped on a patch of ice and landed on my face. Incredibly, I only broke my pinky and scraped my knee. It happened so fast, I have no clue how I managed that, but I all I know is that it could have been MUCH worse.
2. If you pray or believe in sending good vibes, juju, or whatever, I am asking that you please do so for my friend, Susan. The other day, Susan had a dissection of an artery in her brain stem due to Ehlers-Danlos Syndrome, which led to a stroke. The doctors are calling it an absolute miracle that she is alive, let alone coherent. Her right side is paralyzed and her vision is effected. Doctors are unsure of prognosis because this is so rare, but they know she has a long road ahead of her. Any kind of positive love and light would be appreciated. Thank you…
3. We were reading a book called the Paper Bag Princess this week by Robert Munsch. Long story short, a dragon burns Princess Elizabeth’s clothes and carries Ronald, the prince she is going to marry, away to his cave. Elizabeth puts on a paper bag because her clothes are burned, and works really hard to trick the dragon so that she can get into the cave to rescue Ronald. When she finally does, Ronald is extremely rude to her because she has a paper bag on, and her hair is a mess. Elizabeth gets angry and leaves Ronald to fend for himself. We had a great discussion afterwards about what my kids would do in that situation. One of my awesome five-year-olds expressed:
“I would do exactly what Elizabeth did. Leave him there. Except I would add one thing. BYE FELICIA.”
I. lost. it. I wanted to cheer so badly, but I did my best to remain professional, and I went on to listen to what the next kindergartner had to say…
4. I have been zebra-ing away on our 5th benefit. The goal is tickets will go on sale by the first week of February! Stay tuned!
5. Three more episodes of Making a Murderer. I am not one of those that can binge watch it. I get so upset and worked up after each one, that I have to take a break. I am thinking I will finally be done with it this weekend…It is nuts.
**If you are affected by Jonas, stay safe and warm, friends!
