Five For Friday 8/24/12
1. Medical Stuff:
- 1 Day of PT.
- 1 Day of Home Rehab. I sucked at getting in my rehab this week, being back in the classroom. I must get my priorities straight; even while I am adjusting.
- I saw Larry in the office for the first time since he got back from the Olympics. He was so happy and relieved to hear that I will officially be working part-time. He did a lot of rib and cranial manipulation work…all while sharing some good Olympic stories with me. That man is a miracle worker. I am not quite sure where I would be without him.
- My stomach has been giving me fits. I am hoping this flare ends sooner than later.
2. Like I already mentioned, I spent about 10 total hours in the classroom this week getting the room ready. It is pretty much done; I just have to get rid of some things, and do some more organizing. I used strategies to make sure I got myself out of the building without overdoing it {too much}. On one of the days, I scheduled a doctor’s appointment at 1 so I could only stay in the morning. The other two days, I didn’t bring lunch with me, so I had to leave when I started to feel yucky and like I needed to eat…Whatever works. I am still waiting eagerly to hear who my team teacher will be…
3. On Saturday, Allie, Brad, my Mom, and Dad went to Emily and Ethan’s wedding. Emily was a teammate of Allie’s and mine, and we are still close with her family. We had a blast; especially since the theme was…wait for it…ZEBRA!
4. 3 Things that became official this week: A finished kitchen (pictures to come), the contract for the Invisible Illness Benefit, and the new Life as a Zebra Store! After many requests for the “Zebras Make Hoofbeats Too” t-shirts, I am excited to announce that they are now available on the new, online store. Proceeds made from the shirts will benefit Ehlers-Danlos National Foundation, National Dysautonomia Research Foundation, and will assist with my quest to become my own non-profit organization to continue to raise awareness and funds for Invisible Illnesses.
