Five For Friday 8/26/16
1. Medical Stuff:
- I started my week at the eye doctor with pink eye. What the heck? My second eye infection in a month. The doctor called it “flukey.” Twelve years teaching germy kids and I’ve never had pink eye. Anyways, I’m back on the drops.
- 1 Day of PT. Mostly cardio and rib OMM.
- 2 Days of Home Rehab. Treadmill, recumbent bike, balance work, small weights, and scap strengthening.
- I saw a new primary care doc on Thursday. It has been really hard for me to find a PCP that gets my “big picture” so fingers crossed this will work out.
- I saw my OMM doc today. She worked a lot on my left first rib, and inside my mouth on my jaw.
2. It was the LAST full week of summer before we have to report next week. I made sure each of my mornings were nice and slow with good coffee, the Today Show, and a late shower before I got on with my days. That is what I always miss the most; slow, relaxed mornings in my pjs.
3. You know all those little things you constantly put off that you need to do but they’re annoying and tedious so you keep putting them off and off…and off? Maybe it’s just me, but I tried to cross a few of them off this week. Like organizing files on my flash drives, cleaning out a couple of kitchen drawers, and sorting through some of my math materials. Felt good.
4. Counting Crows and Rob Thomas! Tuesday night was definitely the highlight of my week. Renee, my brother’s girlfriend, and I headed to DTE to see two of our faves. AND our seats were upgraded from the lawn to being super close to the stage in the pavilion. Counting Crows has gotten me through a ton, and I am grateful for another live experience with them. I could live without a lot of things but music is not one of them.
5. It’s National Dog Day! Even though we technically don’t have a dog, Allie and Gabe’s Gru Gru has stolen all of our hearts. That dog’s eyes just get me every single time. He’s the most cuddly, loving, beautiful pittie ever and I love him so much.
