Five For Friday 12/28/18

Written by Katie. Posted in Five For Friday

I’m way late…It’s Christmas week…I’ve been with family which means zero regrets…

1. Medical Stuff:

  • 37 Week Check. No signs I’m going anytime soon. Once again, we have an active one! This time, the word, “twirling” was used.
  • I’ve been doing a lot of liquids lately because my belly just feels like it cannot fit one more thing…sucks because of all of the holiday goodies, but I’d rather be somewhat comfortable than feel like my insides are gonna burst.
  • No other appointments.

1. Medical Stuff:

  • 3 Days of Home Rehab.
  • I had an OMM appointment on Wednesday, after setting up my classroom om Monday and Tuesday. My Psoas muscles needed to be calmed down, as well as my jaw and neck.
  • I had a hydrogen glucose stomach test at U of M this morning. It took two hours and is meant to see if the positive bacteria outweighs the negative. If it doesn’t, I will try probiotics.
  • I received my new medical ID bracelet in the mail. It’s from Road ID. I love it. It’s sporty, not too clunky, and I think they are really affordable.

1. Medical Stuff:

  • 3 Days of Home Rehab.
  • I had my July appointment with Larry. Lots of cranial, neck, and upper back OMM.
  • Tuesday I went to U of M for my yearly Gastroparesis check up. I was given an EKG because I am on Domperidone, and everything looked good. My doc wants me to have the Hydrogen Breath Test (because of my flares) which is to check to make sure I have the good kind of bacteria in my stomach. I am also to return in six months for a check up and a meeting with their nutritionist.

1.  Medical Stuff:

  • 1 Day of PT.  Reformer and manipulative medicine on my hip. It always flares up when I overdo it on the treadmill.
  • 2 Days of Home Rehab.
  • I battled gastroparesis most of the week, which meant a lot of soup, water, and applesauce, but by Thursday my stomach was feeling almost back to normal.
