Just a "zebra" trying my best to live life to the fullest with EDS and POTS...and loving the ride.

1. Medical Stuff:

  • 1 Day of PT.  I did Pilates with the leg springs instead of the Reformer for the first time.  My butt felt a major BURN.
  • 2 Days of Home Rehab.

2.  We had our second annual “Zebra Day” at my school on Thursday.  I got major goosies when I saw everyone in their zebra shirts, zebra pants, zebra skirts, zebra hats, zebra hair bows, zebra shoes, etc, etc, etc…The amount of support from the students, staff, and families just blows me away.  Allie and I spoke to 6 classrooms about invisible illness awareness and the importance of having respect and compassion for all.  The kids were awesome, taking it all in and asking really thoughtful questions.  We also raised about $600 from our zebra t-shirt sales for our foundation.  Such a special day!

Everyone in the school got a zebra treat. (Thank you, Sara for making them!)

3.  On Saturday I had a glorious girls day with my niece, sisters-in law, and mother-in-law.  We started out at the spa (best massage ever), came back to my house for snacks, got ready for dinner, went to Bravo, and came home for a sleepover which included lots of girl talk and rounds of catch phrase.  It was a blast…so relaxing, fun and needed! (I just wish I had taken pictures!)

4.  This upcoming week is the last week of school.  I typed my last parent letter for the year today and cried as I reflected on the year.  Honestly, this has been the most challenging class I have ever had, but because of that, I feel like I have become even more bonded and invested with this group of kids.  I have loved watching them grow emotionally, socially, and academically, and I have truly loved being their teacher.  Bring on the end-of-the-year picnics, summer birthdays, hugs, and yes, even more tears this week…
