For the record, if anyone happened to catch the House episode recently about Ehlers Danlos, it was NOT an accurate depiction of the disease. One woman’s blog I follow, wrote about the episode, and I found that her feelings about it happened to echo my thoughts as well. You can read her post here.
Well, House redeemed itself somewhat, by responding to Danielle’s letter. I thought it was a very classy move on David Foster’s part, (the show’s executive-producer who also happens to be an actual doctor) to respond and acknowledge Danielle’s, and to be honest, many other EDS’ers concerns about House’s depiction of Ehlers Danlos. Awareness is crucial, but even more so, is ACCURATE information; especially in the media.
