Five For Friday 7/11/14

1. Medical Stuff:

  • 3 Days of Home Rehab.
  • I had my July appointment with Larry. Lots of cranial, neck, and upper back OMM.
  • Tuesday I went to U of M for my yearly Gastroparesis check up. I was given an EKG because I am on Domperidone, and everything looked good. My doc wants me to have the Hydrogen Breath Test (because of my flares) which is to check to make sure I have the good kind of bacteria in my stomach. I am also to return in six months for a check up and a meeting with their nutritionist.

1. Medical Stuff:

  • I was on my own this week for PT. I actually got to get outside and do some walking for my cardio. I am so ready for this warmer weather…
  • 3 Days of Home Rehab: cardio, balance work, scap and glute fires, leg strengthening, core strengthening, and light weights for arm exercises.
  • I ended up at Urgent Care Sunday night with a skin reaction. Basically my face blew up, so they gave me a shot of Steroids, oral steroids, and an antibiotic. The cause? Who knows, but it is suspected that EDS contributed since I have the type of EDS that affects skin (Type 2/3).

Pain is Real. So is Hope.

I returned to Mishawaka yesterday for more prolotherapy. I have been struggling with my first ribs, neck pain, jaw pain, and headaches lately so I was relieved it was time for shots again, as twisted as that sounds.  I worked all the way there in my benefit planning world, knowing I would not be able to move much the rest of the day.

1. Medical Stuff:

  • 1 Day of PT. I had a really rough weekend of rib subluxations, stomach flu, and migraines from EDS neck pain so when I arrived to therapy, I had had it. I immediately burst into tears…It’s been a while since that happened but my amazing therapist was able to calm me (and my pain) down with a stern pep talk about pacing and listening to my body, cranial therapy, and rib OMM.
  • 2 Days of Home Rehab. Treadmill, balance work, and floor exercises.
  • I have been trying to drink more and more water. I have been feeling so dehydrated lately which does not help my POTS issues.
