Five For Friday 8/26/16

1. Medical Stuff:

  • I started my week at the eye doctor with pink eye. What the heck? My second eye infection in a month. The doctor called it “flukey.” Twelve years teaching germy kids and I’ve never had pink eye. Anyways, I’m back on the drops.
  • 1 Day of PT. Mostly cardio and rib OMM.
  • 2 Days of Home Rehab. Treadmill, recumbent bike, balance work, small weights, and scap strengthening.
  • I saw a new primary care doc on Thursday. It has been really hard for me to find a PCP that gets my “big picture” so fingers crossed this will work out.
  • I saw my OMM doc today. She worked a lot on my left first rib, and inside my mouth on my jaw.

Five For Friday 8/12/16

I feel like I just typed one of these! Please slow down, last bit of summer. PLEASE.

1. Medical Stuff:

  • 1 Day of PT. Two days after vacation. I felt EVERY bite of ice cream.
  • 2 Days of Home Rehab. A lot of treadmill, recumbent bike, and strengthening.
  • I saw Larry on Tuesday for OMM. Back, ribs, neck, jaw. You know the drill.
  • I was back in Indiana on Wednesday for another TMJ therapy appointment. My mouth appliance was adjusted, and I received my sleep study results. NO apnea so I do not have to do any more sleep stuff! Woohoo! It said I had, “very mild snoring at times.” The recommendation? “Patient appears to be obese. Encourage weight loss.” Wellllll, I do want to lose 5 pounds ; ) The next step is an ENT appointment to talk surgery to fix my deviated septum.

1. Medical Stuff:

  • 1 Day of PT.
  • 2 Days of Home Rehab. Lots of cardio! I stepped it up a few notches.
  • 1 OMM appointment to put my bendy body back together.
  • I made an appointment with a new primary care doc. Fingers crossed!

Five For Friday 7/22/16

1. Medical Stuff:

  • I went to Sparrow on Monday thinking I was picking up equipment to redo my home sleep study and found out that since my insurance switched, I had to do an in-lab study. So about 5 hours later, I was hooked up to a million wires in my bed at Sparrow for the night. Surprisingly, I slept more than I thought I would and it wasn’t as traumatic as I thought it would be : ) I was told I will get the results in a week!
  • 1 Day of PT. More core work after cardio.
  • 1 Day of Home Rehab. Should have been 2-3. Need to step it up this week.
