Five For Friday +1 3/17/12

Happy St. Patrick’s Day, everyone!

1.  Medical Stuff:

  • 1 Day of Home Rehab.
  • I had an OMM appointment.  We focused mainly on my neck; especially an OA release.
  • 2 Days of PT~one session focused on strengthening and one session focused on Graston’s treatment.  This is a new treatment I am trying for my hip that uses six stainless steel tools of different shapes and sizes, which helps my PT break down scar tissue and fascial restrictions.

1.  Medical Stuff:

  • 1 Day of Home Rehab :/
  • 1 Session of Physical Therapy.   We focused on my hip and my extremely tight IT bands.  My therapist wants me to come twice a week (instead of once) until my hip pain/instability calms down.
  • I had an OMM appointment on Thursday.  My tailbone and sacrum were twisted so my doc concentrated on getting those back in place.  She also did some cranio work.

Five For Friday 11/4/11

What a week!  This has been a hard week for me because of many school obligations, but I made it through.

1.  Medical Stuff:

  • 2 Days of home rehab.  Probably more like 1.5 days.  Yup, that’s it.  This week was a big fail when it comes to therapy.  I have a lot of making up to do.  Trying not to beat myself up.
  • Rough GI week.

Five For Friday 9/17/11 +1

I’m starting to think that maybe I should just re-name this “Six for Saturday.”  Hopefully next week, I will actually be able to post on Friday.

1.  Medical Stuff:

  • 3 Days of Home Rehab (I did much better on the rehab front this week, and low and behold, my pain level went down).
  • 1 session of PT.  I spent most of the time on the Reformer.  I am thankful Katie did not ease up on me (after the fact).  As I walked in looking like one tired, dragging, hot mess, I believe her quote was, “On the Reformer, you’ll love me later.”
  • I had my monthly appointment with Larry (Sports Med doc/captain of my medical team).  He worked hard at putting my lower ribs back into place.  He also did some gentle neck manipulations.   The best part of the appointment?  We did not have to fill out any paperwork, or come up with any kind of life plan BECAUSE I am now living out all of the planning we did together throughout the past year.  It’s pretty amazing to see that all of our planning paid off.  The second best part?  Larry was beaming with pride that I am working again.  Last year at this time we both thought that working was not going to be possible for me anymore.  Thank GOD for him and my medical team.  I am so blessed.
