Five For Friday 1/9/15

1. Medical Stuff:

  • 1 Day of PT. I was HURTING. I may or may not have cried some. My neck and ribs were really out of whack so my therapist spent the time doing gentle manipulations to try and get them back into place. She also used kinesio tape to tape my neck to take some of the strain off of it.
  • 2 Days of Home Rehab. It was a “wear my neck brace while on the treadmill” week. Like I said last week, I think it is time for more prolotherapy.
  • I had my echo that Dr. Grubb ordered a month ago. He likes to have EDS patients checked every two years, mainly for mitral valve prolapse. So far, no news. I figure no news is good news.

1. Medical Stuff:

  • 1 Day of Home Rehab. That’s it. It was a pretty bumpy week with POTS.
  • I saw my gynecologist on Friday for my yearly. He doesn’t think my hormones are a major player in my increase in POTS symptoms right now. I know it may be weird to say, but I heart my gyno. He definitely cares about the whole person. That means a lot when you’ve seen many doctors.
  • I have a full week of appointments ahead: Larry, Psych, Dr. Grubb in Toledo. Hoping to get to the bottom of some of the issues I am having so I can get back to feeling my “normal.”

1. Medical Stuff:

  • No PT this week. All rehab was on my own.
  • 3 days of Home Rehab. So the new treadmill was put together, and then wouldn’t work. After a lot of time on the phone, the company said it was defective and will be shipping another one…So it’s back outside for walking and cardio until the new one arrives.
  • I saw Dr. Rosen on Tuesday for a shrink appointment. Just trying to figure everything out…you know, life things…things like balance, perspective, health.

Happy Birthday, America!

1. Medical Stuff:

  • One day of PT. First time back on the elliptical after being out of the boot. Also, I worked a lot on scap fire exercises.  My traps love to fire instead of my scaps which gives me a lot of the neck pain (and therefore, headaches) I experience, so it’s a matter of me consistently retraining my scap muscles to do the work.
  • 2 Days of Home Rehab.
  • 1 Shrink Appointment. Striving for balance in all areas of life.
