Topic: What’s something your doctor taught you?

Well, as I am sure it is true for many of you, I have many doctors.  Each one has taught me so much along the way as I have learned to manage both EDS and POTS.  Finding such a great team of doctors did not happen overnight.  It took a lot of travel, a lot of help, and a lot of patience.

This is the latest I’ve ever been, but at least I made it before the next Friday.  I’ve been on a glorious vacation with the whole fam,

I spent the day at the University of Toledo to see the wonderful Dr. Bev for my 6 months POTS check-up.

We drove 2 hours.  Waited 2 hours.  Saw Bev for 25 minutes.  And drove home 2 hours.

Usually I see Bev or Dr. Grubb for over an hour,

Two weeks ago I returned to the University of Toledo’s Heart and Vascular Center for my POTS follow-up.  When I had gone for my first appointment, I saw Bev (Dr. Karabin) and got on a specific treatment plan.  Three months later, I followed up with the famous, Dr. Grubb.  This time around, it was my turn to see Bev again. 

1.  Medical Stuff:

• 3 Days of Home Rehab.
• I had my 6 month follow-up with Bev (Dr. Grubb) for POTS on Monday.
• I had my yearly EDS follow-up with Dr. Lavallee on Thursday.
• My ribs feel like they are going to collapse.  Not cool.  Not cool at all.

After a week of traveling, teaching, appointments, and rehab, this pretty much sums it up for me tonight…
